West Liberty, W.Va. -- The Wesleyan Volleyball team bounced back by beating West Liberty Tuesday night in a MEC matchup. It wasn't easy for the Bobcats, however they managed to complete a 3-0 sweep of the Hilltoppers en route to improving their MEC record to 5-1.
All three sets provided great action coming down to the wire in each. The first set the Lady 'Cats claimed 25-23. And second set picked up where the first one left off, this time, however, the Bobcats would need an extra point to earn the victory 26-24. Another strong defensive effort from Hannah Moore and Katlyn Hoge, combining for 29 digs on the evening, would help push the Bobcats to the 2-0 start. Combine that with senior Camblin Leonard's seven kills and Samantha Swann's six blocks to lead the 'Cats, respectively, Wesleyan was able to wrap up the sweep claiming the third set 25-22.
With the Bobcat win, both teams now have a 7-13 overall record on the year, but the Bobcats still find themselves alone in third place in the MEC. Wesleyan will retake the court Saturday at Wheeling Jesuit. Game time is slated for 1pm.
