Wheeling, W.Va. -- The Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals were able to take three straight sets from the Bobcats Saturday in MEC play. That's only the second loss in conference play for Wesleyan this season.
The Cardinals got out to an early start verse the 'Cats Saturday afternoon claiming the first set 25-18. The Bobcats were lead by senior Camblin Leonard and and juionr Erin Bond as they lead the team in kills on the evening. However, Wheeling Jesuit was just too much at the net leading total kills 33-26.
Wesleyan would fall in the second set 25-16, but would fight back hard in the third set doing their best to mount a comeback. The Bobcats would be stopped short 25-21, ultimately losing the match 3-0. The big difference on the afternoon for Wesleyan was the ability of the Cardinals to handle the attacks of the 'Cats. Wheeling would tally a total of 71 digs on the day compared to Wesleyan's 45.
Wesleyan will return to action when they host conference foe, Fairmont State this Friday at Rockefeller Center. Game time is slated for 7pm.
