Shepherd, W.Va. -- The Wesleyan Volleyball team ran in to the home of the Shepherd Rams Friday evening and took three straights sets, earning the match 3-0. The win over a, now, 8-6 MEC Rams team, sits the Bobcats at 9-4 and fourth place in the conference.
The attack at the front line was lead by Hannah Moore and her 13 kills on the evening. Erin Bond added nine slams of her own while it was also a truly a great effort on the defensive side that propelled the 'Cats. Wesleyan compiled 57 digs on the evening, 17 alone by Aspen Weber. Senior Casey Pattyn also contributed a game high 35 assists for the Bobcats.
All three sets seamed to play even, however, Wesleyan was able to create game deciding runs in each. The 'Cats would claim the first set 25-21, ultimately, their largest margin of all three. The second set would be closer at 25-23, and in the third the Bobcats would need one overtime point to shut down any attempt at a Ram comeback, 26-24.
The Bobcats will be back home Tuesday as they play host to UVa-Wise at 7pm in Rockefeller Center.
