Volleyball Lady ‘Cats Get First Win With Romp Over Salem

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats cruised to an easy win over visiting Salem International here Tuesday in non-conference volleyball action.

The Lady 'Cats picked up their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Salem.
"It feels good to get that first victory," remarked head coach Jackie Hinton. "Especially since we were able to get it in our home opener."

Wesleyan took the first set, 25-21, but dropped the second set, 25-16.

They rebounded to dominate the third set by a 25-10 score and closed out the Tigers in the fourth set, 25-22.

"We didn't come out in the second set and play with any intensity," Hinton said. "I was playing some younger players we sort of lost the chemistry we had going on the floor. But we made adjustments after that and finished strong."
The Lady 'Cats are now 1-3 on the season.
They now have a 10-day lay-off before the return to action.

They will next play Friday, Sept. 19 at Notre Dame in their MEC opener. The contest is slated for 7 p.m.
