Lady 'Cats Push Charleston To Brink Before Falling 3-2

CHARLESTON -- The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats came oh so close to ending their three-game slide here Friday night against the University of Charleston in a MEC contest.

The Lady 'Cats lost a 3-2 decision to Charleston.

They won a hard-fought 27-25 decision in the first set but dropped a close 25-21 verdict in the second set.

After dropping the third set by that same 25-21 score, the Lady 'Cats owned the fourth set winning 25-13.

They then lost the last set by the slimmest of margins, 15-13.

Erin Bond led the Lady 'Cats with 20 kills while Stacie Baumann had 14.

Paulina Nottingham (pictured) had 39 assists and 17 digs for Wesleyan.

The loss dropped Wesleyan to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in the MEC.

They will return to action Saturday when they return to Charleston for a 4 p.m. outing with West Virginia State.
