Wesleyan Loses 3-0 Contest to Fairmont State

FAIRMONT – The West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team went on the road tonight and dropped a 3-0 decision to the homestanding Fairmont State Lady Falcons in a MEC clash.

Wesleyan fell by scores, 25-21, 25-19 and 25-11.

Stacie Baumann led Wesleyan with seven kills while Erin Bond had six.

Paulina Nottingham had 23 assists.

Sarah Crowder had two service aces for Wesleyan.

The loss was the second in a row for head coach Jackie Hinton and her Lady Bobcat team after they piled up a six-game winning streak.

The loss dropped them back under the .500 mark overall and 7-8. They remain in fifth place in the MEC with a 6-4 record. The top four teams host a MEC First-Round Tournament contest.

Fairmont State improved to 16-5 overall and 8-2 in the MEC.

Wesleyan will return to action at home this Tuesday when they host Charleston at 7 p.m.

Charleston is currently 4-15 overall and 3-6 in the MEC.
