ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio – The West Virginia Wesleyan reserve volleyball team opened their season in fine fashion against Ohio University Eastern Thursday evening.
The Lady Bobcats won in straight sets – 25-8, 25-16 and 25-15.
"I was very proud of the girls for pulling out the win in three games," remarked assistant coach Amanda Walker. "Not only was it our first match of the season, but we encountered some difficulties with the start time of the match and ended up playing an hour and a half later than expected.
"The girls played tough the entire match and kept up the energy and enthusiasm despite it being so late. I couldn't have asked for a better turn out for our first match and am very excited for the rest of the season."
The reserve team will return to action this Monday when they travel to Bethany.
The contest will start at 7 p.m.
