Volleyball Team Earns Victory Over Emory & Henry

GREENSBORO (N.C.) – The West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team broke into the win column with a 3-1 victory over Emory & Henry Saturday evening in the Greensboro College Invitational.

Earlier in the day, the Lady Bobcats dropped a 3-1 decision to Swarthmore (Pa.).

The action left Ashley Ziegle's squad with a 1-5 record.

Against Emory & Henry, Wesleyan dropped the first set by a 25-18 score but roared back to take the next three sets, 25-21, 25-17 and 25-19.

Stacie Baumann had 20 kills while Hannah King owned 17.

Paulina Nottingham had 28 assist while Katlyn Buckland had 18.

Moore had 16 digs while Lexi Walsh had nine.

In the first outing of the day against Swarthmore, Wesleyan took the first set by a 26-24 score.

Swarthmore took the next three – 25-9, 25-19 and 25-15.

Baumann had nine kills while Sarah Crowder had six.

Buckland was credited with 14 assists with Nottingham getting 12.

Katlyn Hoge had 14 digs.

Wesleyan will return to action on Sunday at the Invitational as they play host Greensboro and will conclude the weekend with a match against Oglethorpe.
