Volleyball Team Goes 1-1 in Tri-Match

SALEM – The West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team went 1-1 in a tri-match at Salem International today at the T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.

In a pair of non-conference battles, Wesleyan defeated Salem International by a 3-0 score (25-23, 25-19 and 25-18) but dropped their second outing to Bluefield State 3-1 (25-17, 25-23, 20-25 and 25-11).

Against Salem International, Wesleyan had 45 kills with Hannah Moore leading the way with 12 whlie Stacie Baumann had 11.

Paulina Nottingham and Katlyn Buckland each had 19 assists.

Moore led the team in digs with 13 while Lexi Walsh had 10.

Against Bluefield State, Hannah King led the team with nine kills, Nottingham had 13 assists and Baumann had 11 digs.

The split left Ashley Ziegle's squad with a 6-10 record overall.

They will return to action Tuesday when they host Glenville State in a Mountain East Conference outing at 7 p.m.
