Volleyball Lady 'Cats Fall to Concord But Defeat UVa.-Wise

WISE, Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team went 1-1 on their southern Mountain East Conference swing this Friday and Saturday against Concord and UVa.-Wise.

In Athens on Friday night, the Lady Bobcats dropped a 3-1 decision  to Concord (25-19, 21-25, 16-25 and 19-25) but rebounded on Saturday afternoon to down UVa.-Wise, 3-0 (25-21, 25-17 and 25-23).

It was a tale of two completely different outings for the Lady Bobcats.

Concord entered their match with a 2-17 record but handed Wesleyan the loss.

Then on Saturday, Wesleyan dealt UVa.-Wise their first MEC loss of the season.

The split moved Wesleyan into a tie for seventh-place in the MEC standings. The top eight make the MEC Tournament.

Ashley Ziegle and her Lady Bobcats are now 8-11 overall and 2-4 in the MEC.

They will return to action this Tuesday when they host West Liberty at 7 p.m.
