Volleyball Team Drops 3-0 Decision to West Liberty

BUCKHANNON – Momentum can be a funny thing in sports. When you lose it, you may never get it back, and that was the case here tonight for the West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team.

Wesleyan was up on conference foe West Liberty at match point at 24-18 in the first set and playing well.

Then everything collapsed on the Lady Bobcats.

West Liberty scored the next eight points to win the first set by a 26-24 score.

West Liberty kept the momentum going as they scored the first five points of the second set and went on to a 25-11 victory.

Wesleyan scrapped back in the third set but wound up losing it by a 25-20 score.

The loss dropped Wesleyan to 8-12 overall and 2-5 in the MEC.

West Liberty improved to 3-4 in the league and 10-12 overall.

The Lady Bobcats will remain at home and face Wheeling Jesuit this Saturday at 10 a.m.

The Wheeling Jesuit contest will be a Dig for The Cure Game to help raise awareness and money for breast cancer research.
