Lady Bobcats Win in Straight Sets Over Glenville State

GLENVILLE – The West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team had little trouble dispatching of conference foe Glenville State tonight at the Waco Center.

Wesleyan improved their Mountain East Conference tournament chances after disposing of the Lady Pioneers in three sets – 25-17, 25-19 and 25-17.

The victory lifted Ashley Ziegle's squad to 11-16 overall and 5-8 in the MEC. The win also propelled the Lady Bobcats into the eighth and final play-off spot as they have a half-game lead over ninth-place Urbana.

Wesleyan piled up 45 kills during the victory.

Stacie Baumann led the team with 13 while Shannon Gregorek had 11 and Hannah King collected nine.

Katlyn Buckland (pictured) had 13 assists while Paulina Nottingham had 11.

Katlyn Hoge led the team with nine digs while Lexi Walsh and Nottingham each had eight.

King also had four service aces.

Wesleyan will return to action this Friday when they host Shepherd at 7 p.m.

The game will be "Senior Night" as the Lady Bobcats will honor their five seniors – Mariah Williams, Mikaela Hutchinson, Sarah Crowder. Samantha Sunshine and Gregorek.
