BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan reserve volleyball team recently wrapped up their season -- ending it on a four-game winning streak.
After a 2-2 start to the season in September, the Lady Bobcats were a perfect 4-0 in October to finish the season with a 6-2 record.
"I am very proud of how the girls did this season," remarked assistant coach Amanda Walker. "Coming out with a 6-2 record is great for our first time working together."
They didn't lose a set in October as they beat WVU-Parkersburg (3-0), Ohio University Eastern (3-0), Wheeling Jesuit (3-0) and WVU-Parkersburg on the road in a rematch (3-0).
"The girls worked hard every day, whether it was in practice, games or even out of practice to meet and discuss things that they wanted to work on," remarked Walker. "They are a great group of girls and I saw a lot of improvement throughout the season. Several people played more than one position during the season and they met all my expectations in doing so. I think we will have a strong group of girls next year!"
