URBANA – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcat volleyball team suffered a disappointing loss to the Urbana Blue Knights here tonight in Mountain East Conference action.
The Lady Bobcats lost in straight sets -- 25-23, 25-7 and 25-23.
Wesleyan had just 22 kills as Hannah Moore led the way with six.
Paulina Nottingham paced the Lady 'Cats with 14 assists and eight digs.
The loss ended a three-game winning streak and put a dent in their Mountain East Conference tournament aspirations.
Wesleyan is now 6-9 in the MEC and 12-17 overall.
They are in a three-way tie for seventh place – tied with Urbana (6-9, 12-16) and Concord (6-9, 8-25). Only two of the three teams will make the tournament as the MEC takes the top eight teams.
Wesleyan will close out their regular season Saturday as they visit Notre Dame College who is 3-25 overall and 2-13 in the MEC.
This will be the first match-up of the year between the two teams. It is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
