Volleyball 'Cats Fall to WJU in MEC Quarterfinals

WHEELING – The West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team dropped their contest with the top-seeded Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals today in Mountain East Conference quarterfinal action in the McDonough Center.

Wesleyan, the eighth seed, lost in straight sets – 25-12, 25-10 and 25-12.

The Lady Bobcats ended their season with a 12-19 record.

Wesleyan compiled 25 kills during the contest.

The Lady Bobcats were led by Stacie Baumann with 11 kills. Paulina Nottingham had 16 assists and Hannah Moore added 11 digs.

Wheeling Jesuit will now play No. 5 Shepherd who ousted No. 4 UVa.-Wise earlier in the day in one semi-final outing.

No. 2 Fairmont Sate and No. 3 Charleston will meet in the other semi-final clash.

Fairmont State beat Urbana and Charleston downed West Liberty in other action today.
