ST. VINCENT (Pa.) – Sydney Pineault took seventh place today for the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats in the St. Vincent College Invitational.
The junior clocked a time of 24:06.
Joanna Johnston also finished in the top 10 as the placed 10th with a time of 24:21.
The two top 10 finishes helped the Lady Bobcats to a team finish of fourth among 15 teams.
Allegheny won the team title with 31 points while Waynesburg ws second with 76. Carnegie Mellon was fourth with 89 while Wesleyan was fourth with 115.
Allegheny's Sarah Jane Guillaume was first with a time of 23:18 while teammate Monica Patrick was second with a clocking of 23:28.
"The kids ran with a lot more heart today," remarked head coach Jesse Skiles. "They battled the hills and really laid it all out there. We are definitely not where we need to be right now, but today was a step in the right direction"
The Lady Bobcats will run again Saturday, Oct. 1 in the Greater Louisville Classic.
