Lady 'Cats Run 14th at NCAA DII Atlantic Regionals

SLIPPERY ROCK (Pa.) – Junior Sydney Pineault (pictured) had a top 10 finish for the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Cross Country meet here today.

Pineault finished 10th out of 144 runners with a time of 23:27.

Pineault also earned all-region honors by virtue of her 10th-place finish.

As a team, the Lady Bobcats finished 14th out of 22 teams with 304 points.

Among Mountain East Conference teams, Wesleyan ran second out of six teams.

Shippensburg (Pa.) won the team title with 57 points while Bloomsburg was second with 66. Seton Hill was a distant third with 146 points.

Wheeling Jesuit was the top MEC team, placing eighth with 245 points.

Shippensburg's Casey Norton won the event with a time of 22:21 while Seton Hill's Chelsia Poole was second with a time of 22:43.

Wesleyan's Joanna Johnston placed 36th with a time of 24:28.

Lexi Beach and Emma Harrison ran almost identical times in the race. Beach finished 65th with a time of 25:19 while Harrison was 67th with a clocking of 25:21.

Rachael Englund rounded out the Wesleyan roster placing 126th with a time of 28:13.

The Atlantic Regional Championships wrapped up the 2016 season for the women's cross country team.
